In terms of flexibility and controllability, power flows can be controlled to improve grid efficiency, provide grid services and prevent line and transformer overloads or excessive voltage variations. In terms of resilience, islanding operation and black-start can be ensured for specific areas of the distribution grid. Multiport Converters can be also distributed in different locations to increase grid reliability.
