Third group of scenarios examines introduction of Multiport Power Converter within #offgrid communities currently powered by on-site generation. Such #microgrid systems are predominant source of electricity within some #ruralcommunities in Scottish Highlands as well as across the Global South. Adoption of MPC could significantly improve power conversion efficiency within the microgrid central generation hub. Furthermore, introduction of MPC provides capabilities to interconnect with neighbouring off-grid networks improving overall reliability of power supply and renewable generation utilisation factor, minimizing dependency on imported fuels.
